Bulgaria's U17 men's national team will participate in the World Championship in Doha (Qatar), which will take place from August 19 to 29. Following the withdrawal of Belgium and Chile, the Bulgarian team receives a quota based on its ranking and will take a place among the participants in the championship. This was announced by the BFV (Bulgarian Volleyball Federation) website.
A chance that should not be missed
Such participation at this age is first and foremost an investment in the future. Meetings with teams from different continents will provide our young volleyball players with invaluable experience against diverse game models, physical profiles, and tactical solutions.
This is a squad in the process of formation, and the main goal should be to accumulate international experience, build psychological resilience, and adapt to a high level of competition, rather than focusing on results at all costs.
Preparation begins immediately
Following the official confirmation of participation, the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation has initiated organizational actions for the team's preparation. An application has been submitted for participation in the Balkan Championship for this age group, which will serve as an important stage of game preparation before the World Championship.
These official matches will allow the staff to finalize the squad, rotations, and game model, as well as to test the team's resilience in a competitive environment.
The coaching staff is yet to be formed
In the coming weeks, discussions will be held to determine the coaching staff that will take charge of the team's selection and preparation. Key will be the creation of a structured and calm environment in which young athletes can develop without unnecessary pressure.
The World Championship in Doha will be an important benchmark for the level of this generation and the first serious international test of its potential.
