The Zlatanov family is back in Ravenna: 30 years after Hristo, his son Manuel will also play there.

Manuel Zlatanov, the son of Hristo Zlatanov, will continue his career

at "Consar" Ravenna, informed the specialized Italian volleyball

websitevolleyball.it. The young attacker, part of the "Squadra

Azzurra" selection U18, which will play at EuroVolley this summer in Plovdiv and

Sofia, becomes the second Zlatanov who will wear the jersey of the team from Ravenna,

after his father Hristo previously competed there for 2 seasons - between

1994 and 1996. Interestingly, exactly 30 years have passed between

the transfers of father and son to Ravenna. Such continuity is noted by colleagues from

Italy for the families Boninfante and Recine.

Manuel Zlatanov became the youngest player to debut in the history

of the Italian "Serie A1". At just 15 years and 8 months, the Italian

talent recorded his first minutes in the elite of "the Boot", wearing the jersey of

"Piacenza". This happened on December 3 last year in a match against

"Verona", led by Radostin Stoychev and with the captain of our national team

Alex Grozdanov in the squad.

The attacker, born on March 7, 2008, shared with Italian

journalists that the fact that his father played in Ravenna did not influence his choice,

although he consulted with him. After visiting the city, the talent

he himself chose to continue his career there, stating that he was attracted by

the overall project being implemented at the club. Manuel states that this will

be the ideal place where he will develop both technically and in life, as he will be

far enough from his native Piacenza. Zlatanov Jr. adds that he

arrives with a great desire to prove himself and improve in Ravenna.

Regarding his commitments in the Italian youth national team,

the young attacker announced that he expects to be invited again to participate in

the European U18 in Bulgaria, as well as the World Cup in September for the U17s,

which will again be in our country. Is fate winking in this way

at the Italian talent – we are yet to see.
