The team of the University of Debrecen (DEAC), where Bulgarian opposite hitter Ivan Tasev plays, failed to win a single set against MAFC in a regular season match of the TippmixPro Férfi NB I Extraliga.
The hosts started confidently, but the guests from Budapest gradually imposed a more stable game in decisive moments and achieved a clean 0:3 victory(21:25, 23:25, 18:25).
The first set was decided after a series of service errors by DEAC, which allowed MAFC to take the lead. In the second, the Hungarian team again showed more composure at the end, and the third set passed entirely under the dictation of the guests.
Ivan Tasev finished with a modest 9 points, ending with +2 in efficiency, adding 2 aces, realizing 44% in attack and recording 67% positive reception.
After the defeat, DEAC occupies sixth place in the standings with 32 points, and in the next round, the team will face Kazincbarcika – a team where another Bulgarian, Borislav Nikolov, played last season.
The loss broke DEAC's streak of eight consecutive victories, but the team will be looking for a quick return to winning ways.
