Neftochimic held the Burgas derby and solidified its rise in the second half of the season

The volleyball derby in Burgas once again offered tension, comebacks, and full stands. In "Boycho Branzov" Hall, Neftochimic 2010 showed greater depth and stability in key moments to defeat Dea Sport with a score of 3:1 (25:20, 25:22, 22:25, 25:16) in a match from the 16th round of efbet Super Volley.

This is the third consecutive victory for Ivan Stanev's team in the second half of the season, which solidifies the team's position at the top of the standings.

Match Development

Neftochimic started confidently and took the initiative in the first set, which they closed at 25:20 after a more stable attack and fewer unforced errors. The second part was far more contested, but again the "sheikhs" demonstrated better concentration at the end – 25:22.

Dea Sport reacted in the third set, where they improved their block organization and attack, and reduced the deficit after 25:22. In the fourth set, however, Neftochimic established categorical superiority – strong serving, stable defense, and a quick transition in attack shaped the convincing 25:16 and the final 3:1.

Team Statistics

Metric Neftochimic Dea Sport
Block 10 7
Attack Efficiency 45% 44%
Points from Attack 49 50
Total Points 97 83
Positive Reception 60% 39%

The most significant difference is evident in reception 60% positive reception for Neftochimic against only 39% for Dea Sport. This stability allowed the hosts to organize a more varied attack and maintain a high tempo in transition. They also had a significant advantage in blocking and service points, which often proves decisive in a derby match. Although Dea had more points from pure attack (50 vs 49), the overall balance and fewer unforced errors tipped the scales in favor of Neftochimic.

With this win, Neftochimic remains in fourth position in the current standings with 10 wins, 4 losses, and 29 points. Dea Sport is seventh with 7 wins, 8 losses, and 21 points, the same as sixth-placed Pirin (Razlog), but with a better set ratio.
