Dobromir Dimitrov and Las Palmas with second win in Champions League

Dobromir Dimitrov and Guaguas Las Palmas recorded their second victory in the group stage of the Champions League, overcoming Berlin's resistance with 3:1 (22:25, 30:28, 25:21, 26:24), thus taking an important step towards a higher ranking in Group C.

The Spanish team once again showed stability in key moments, and at the heart of their success was the stellar performance of Osmany Juantorena, who finished as the top scorer for the winners with 22 points. He also made the final block that closed the match. Ramos (13), Collito (11), and Mendez (10) provided solid support.

Former national setter Dobromir Dimitrov also contributed, appearing in the first, second, and fourth sets, helping to maintain the team's rhythm and organization.

On the other side, Hannes was most impressive, scoring a colossal 37 points, but received almost no support – only one of his teammates surpassed the 10-point mark.

With this second success, Las Palmas solidified their third-place position in Group C standings before the final matches of Round 6, which will be played on February 18.

Schedule for Round 6 (February 18)

  • Berlin – Perugia

  • Lvi Prague – Guaguas Las Palmas

The Spaniards will have a chance to solidify their position against Lvi Prague in a match that could prove decisive for the final ranking in the group of the best third-placed teams, which grants a playoff spot.

In the other group match, Lvi Prague lost to Perugia with 0-3 (13-25, 18-25, 17-25).
