Another opposite has left the Italian championship before the end of the season. Following yesterday's departure of Kristiyan Padar from Monza, today it became clear that the young Iranian scorer Amir Golzadeh (b. 2003) will also no longer be available to Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina for the final three matches of the SuperLega campaign.
Golzadeh activated a clause in his contract, which allows him to finish the season with another club, after receiving an offer from abroad described as "irresistible". Grottazzolina's management did not wish to veto the move and gave the green light to the separation.
The decision comes against the backdrop of a severe blow for the team in the last round – the home loss to Monza, a match in which the opposite left the court earlier after an accidental collision during play. According to information from Italy, the medical prognosis after the incident would have ruled him out of the next away game against Trento anyway, which further accelerated the development of the situation.
Grottazzolina does not hide that Golzadeh's season was on an upward trajectory – having arrived shortly before the start of the championship, the Iranian gradually became an important figure in the attack, and his progress attracted interest from clubs both in Italy and abroad.
Grottazzolina thanked Golzadeh for his professionalism and contribution and wished him success in the next step of his career.
At this stage, a potential deal with Dimitar Dimitrov seems rather unlikely, as Grottazzolina would hardly invest in a new opposite for the final matches given their minimal chances of avoiding relegation. The Bulgarian himself is in ascending form and would logically seek a project with greater prospects.
