Bulgaria recorded a second victory at the first FIVB Boys' U17 World Championship, which we are hosting. Our team took three points after defeating Mexico 3:1 (25:17, 25:21, 19:25, 25:15). Alexander Dobrev finished with the most points - 17 (3 blocks), followed by Dimitar Peychinov with 13 points, including an impressive 7 blocks, and Evan Georgiev scored 9 times (1 block).

The beginning of the match was convincing for the Bulgarian team and the score quickly reached 6:3. At times, the Mexicans managed to close the gap and briefly took the lead – 10:9. However, the Bulgarians scored seven consecutive points and then decided the outcome of the set with another four consecutive points – 25:17.

The second set started even more decisively for Bulgaria, with the national team taking an 8:3 lead. Subsequently, the Mexicans narrowed the distance and forced a timeout from Bulgaria's coaching staff at 13:13. During these minutes, the match was even, and Mexico turned the score around for 17:16. The Bulgarians responded with three consecutive points and reached three set points at 24:21, converting the first for 25:21.

In the third set, Mexico started more actively and took a 7:6 lead. The Bulgarian team scored four consecutive points, but the Mexican team regained the lead and after 21:16, concluded the set at 25:19.

After an even start to the fourth set up to 7:7, a Bulgarian run of five consecutive points followed. The national team pulled ahead 19:10 and concluded the match at 25:15.
Thus, after losing a point yesterday, we are third in the group, behind Spain and Chinese Taipei, who today took two points from the Iberians.
