Lokomotiv's head coach Plamen Konstantinov criticized the refereeing after the 2:3 (25:22, 13:25, 25:22, 20:25, 21:23) loss to Zenit Kazan, led by Alexey Verbov. This is the second five-set match for Konstantinov's boys in the group stage of the Legends Cup.

With the score at 21:22 in the tie-break, the first referee Nikolai Knizhnikov called a held ball on Yuri Brazhnyuk. The Novosibirsk volleyball players claim that the player did not make a pass, but rather an attacking hit – the ball flew towards Kazan's side.

"Great match? Yes! And it ended as such. Kazan's players cry every time they play against Novosibirsk - something is wrong with them. And today's volleyball was finished in such a way by the referees. Nothing here will ever be a show. Never! This is because of such comrades (i.e. the referees)!"
