The Islamic Republic of Iran Volleyball Federation (IRIVF) fired Brazilian coach Mauricio Motta Paes on Friday, tehrantimes.com reported. This comes after the Persians' consecutive losses to the teams of Bulgaria and Turkey in the Volleyball Nations League. The Islamic Republic of Iran team is in last place in the competition, having suffered seven defeats and having no chance to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games. Former assistant Peyman Akbari will take over the team, leading them until the end of VNL 2024. In the last week of the competition, Iran is scheduled to meet with the USA, the Netherlands, France, and Germany. We remind you that Radostin Stoychev, as well as several Italian specialists, were included in the selection process for the Asian team's head coach.
