Dramatic turnaround in Taranto, strong Bulgarian presence not enough for Ravenna to win

After nearly two and a half hours of intense battle in the hallPalaFiomthe Prisma La Cascina Taranto team staged a comeback to defeat Consar Ravenna 3:2
3:2 (22:25, 22:25, 25:20, 25:16, 15:11).

Ravenna was very close to victory after the first two sets, but suffered a dip in form, which the hosts fully exploited, led by Hopt, Cianciotta, and solid defense.

For Ravenna, the match was highlighted by the exceptional performance of Samuil Valchinov, who delivered one of his strongest matches of the season – 23 points, +12 efficiency, 2 aces, 1 block, and 56% attack efficiency.
Hristiyan Dimitrov was also very solid with 20 points, +8, 2 blocks, and 55% in attack.

Manuel Zlatanov, who plays with an Italian passport, added 18 points, but even his contribution could not prevent Taranto's complete comeback.

After losing the first two sets, coach Lorizio's team significantly raised their level – they improved their serve, stabilized their defense, and gradually took control of the match. In the tie-break, Taranto started strong, took an early lead, and maintained the initiative until the end.

The victory provides an important psychological boost for the hosts, while for Ravenna, the bitterness remains that despite excellent individual performances, especially from Valchinov and Dimitrov, the team only managed to secure one point from Taranto.
