The Men's U20 National Volleyball Team, led by Miroslav Zhivkov, played a friendly match against Greece this evening. The match took place in the hall in the Greek city of Filippiada, near the city of Arta, where the European Championship matches will also be held.

Our team defeated the hosts 3:0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-18). However, the friendly match was much more special. It was the first sports event in the new sports facility in Filippiada, Ziros Municipality. All training sessions for the European Championship delegations will be held there. The city, with a population of about 13,000 people, is located 10 kilometers northwest of Arta (on the banks of the Louros River).

The hosts presented a special plaque to the Bulgarian group to commemorate the event. Coach Miroslav Zhivkov accepted it on behalf of the team.

Despite the long journey (about 750 km), our young "lions" played a perfect match against the Greek volleyball players. We showed very good play in attack (51%) and reception (41%, 27%), made few errors (17), recorded 10 points from serves and 7 from blocks. The most effective player was Kristiyan Titriyski with 10 points, Aleksandar Nikolov added 9 (4 blocks), and Zhasmin Velichkov scored 8. Rangel Vitekov and Tomislav Rusev each recorded 3 aces.

Tomorrow there will be another match between the two teams, but this time in the hall where the official championship matches will take place.
