Etropole made a double and again won the Cup of Bulgaria

Etropole is once again the winner of the Cup in the Higher League. Plamen Todorov's team defended the trophy after a four-set clash with Minyor (Pernik) – 3:1 (27:25, 21:25, 25:22, 25:19) in the final, played in "Arena SamElion". Thus, "the red and whites" solidified their dominance in the tournament.

Last year, Etropole reached the trophy after a victory over Rodopa (Smolyan), and now they showed that their success was not accidental, despite the serious resistance from Pernik's team.

First set – drama until the last point

Minyor started more confidently and took the lead early (2:0), dictating the pace until 10:7. Fluctuations followed, which Etropole took advantage of, coming dangerously close (10:9, 12:11). Pernik's team pulled ahead again, but Plamen Todorov's boys made a crucial run and turned the score from 12:16 to 18:16.
The end was tense – a tie at 23:23, a set point for Minyor (24:23), but without closing. In the continued battle, "the red and whites" showed stronger nerves and took the set 27:25.

Second set – Minyor's reaction

The Cup holders started better in the second set as well, but after 6:4, Minyor found its rhythm and built a solid lead (12:7). Etropole tried to get back into the game (11:14), but Pernik's team pulled ahead again and controlled the events until the end, to equalize the sets.

Third set – turnaround and control

Minyor started strong in the third set as well (6:3), but failed to maintain the pace. Gradually, Etropole imposed their game and turned the score around (11:9). In the following minutes, they dominated, also taking advantage of numerous service errors from the opponent. Despite serious pressure at the end, "the red and whites" kept their composure and closed the set at 25:22.

Fourth set – the champion's character

The decisive set started with a bang for Minyor, who led 6:0, but Etropole's serve changed the course of events. The difference was quickly narrowed (7:6), and a little later completely eliminated. An even game followed, but in the key moments, Etropole once again showed character, pulled ahead in the score and did not allow another comeback. The set ended 25:19, and the Cup once again went to Etropole.
The team's setter, Denimir Dimitrov, became MVP.
