Bogdanka LUK Lublin's reserves lost at home to the last-place team in Poland

With an entirely reserve squad, Bogdanka LUK Lublin suffered a home defeat to InPost HKS Chelm with a score of 1:3 (17:25, 25:20, 23:25, 27:29) in a match from the 16th round of PlusLiga. Following their participation in the Polish Cup final tournament last Sunday, where the champions won the trophy, and in view of the upcoming away game against Skra Bełchatów on Saturday, the coaching staff rested the starters and gave a chance to players with less game time. However, they failed to stand up against the last-placed team in the standings, who played one of their most stable matches of the season. Polish media described the loss as a minor sensation.

The match started with complete dominance from the guests, who convincingly took the first set. Lublin's reserve squad managed to react in the second set, but in the crucial moments of the third and fourth sets, when they managed to save three match points, the lack of game rhythm and experience in decisive situations took its toll.

The loss, which is their fourth, could affect Bogdanka's standing, who are still in first place, but before tomorrow's match of second-placed Projekt Warszawa, who, if successful, will displace the champions from the top spot. The defeat showed that in the absence of the starters, the difference in level compared to other teams in PlusLiga significantly decreases, while for HKS Chelm, the success could prove to be an important psychological boost in their fight for survival.
