The platform"How is it spelled?"announced the ten words that will participate in the selection forword of the year for 2025, formed based on their most frequent usage by users on social networks.

A large part of the nominated concepts reflect the social tension over the past year, marked by thousands of protests and sharp political language. This group includes the words"outrage", "protest", "capital D", "when pa" and "scoundrel".

Also making it into the top ten are"euro", "budget", locals and gen Z, which were also among the most commented topics in the public space in 2025.

Sports also have their presence in the ranking. After the strong performance of the Bulgarian volleyball team at the World Championship, the word volleyball is among the ten contenders for word of the year.
