VC Neftochimik 2010 and head coach Francesco Cadeddu terminated their cooperation by mutual agreement. The club announced this on the team's page. The separation comes at an extremely delicate moment just days before the start of the Bulgarian Cup tournament, which inevitably puts the team in a situation of urgent reorganization. The last straw for the club management's patience was the loss to Levski in Burgas at the end of last week.
The Italian specialist, who in recent months combined his club commitments with the role of assistant coach in the Bulgarian men's national team, will not finish the season at the helm of the Burgas team. The club expressed official gratitude to Cadeddu for his work and wished him health and success in future professional challenges.
Who is Francesco Cadeddu
Francesco Cadeddu is an Italian coach, born on June 18, 1974, with a rich international career in volleyball. He has worked in 19 clubs and national teams, leading over 650 matches in more than 80 tournaments.
In Bulgaria, his name is mainly associated with Dea Volley (2022–2025) and Neftochimik 2010, as well as with the men's national team, where he was an assistant coach. His coaching biography includes periods in Italy, Russia, Poland, Austria, Romania, and Slovakia, including elite clubs such as Lube, Cuneo, Piacenza, and Resovia.
Cadeddu is a specialist with a strong emphasis on physical preparation and game organization, and his presence in Bulgaria contributed experience from leading European volleyball schools.
Until the end of the season, Neftochimik 2010 will be led by sports director Ivan Stanev. He will take responsibility for the team's performance in the upcoming decisive matches, including in the Bulgarian Cup competition.
The separation from Cadeddu raises questions about both the short-term stability of the team and the club's long-term strategic plans. At a time when every set and every bench decision can prove crucial, Neftochimik enters a new phase where rapid adaptation will be key.
