Alex Grozdanov: "We have everything we need to reach the top in the Champions League as well"

After BOGDANKA LUK Lublin also won the TAURON Polish Cup, Alex Grozdanov described the success as unexpectedly decisive, even for the players themselves. The Bulgarian middle blocker admitted to the websiteplusliga.pl, that no one in the team had expected such an easy victory in the final, but excellent concentration, aggressive play, and the deep squad made the difference.

Grozdanov emphasizes that despite the accumulated fatigue from the condensed calendar and many long matches in recent weeks, the team managed to maintain a high level of focus and intensity. According to him, this was the key to their dominance in the final and to the fact that Lublin controlled the match in all elements of the game.

Collective performance holds a special place in his commentary. The Bulgarian admits he didn't expect the team to sweep all individual awards, but he accepts this as a reflection of the team's overall play. The awards bring satisfaction, but also a symbolic "commitment" within the locker room – part of the team culture and good atmosphere.

Having already won all possible trophies in Polish domestic tournaments, Grozdanov's and his teammates' sights are logically set on the Champions League. The middle blocker is adamant that the ambition for success there has existed for a long time and is not the result of momentary euphoria. According to him, Lublin has all the necessary components for a major European breakthrough – quality, squad depth, motivation, and stable organization – but the key remains consistent work and gradual progress.

Grozdanov also doesn't underestimate the challenge that follows the triumph – the quick return to tough matches in PlusLiga. He admits that it is precisely in such moments that the risk of a slump lies, but he believes that the team now has the experience and maturity to handle it better than in previous similar situations.

His individual award for the best middle blocker in the tournament is further confirmation of his strong period, but Grozdanov himself largely sees it as a childhood dream come true and a result of collective success. For him, the most important thing remains being part of a team that not only wins trophies but does so with style and a clear identity.
