Elitsa Atanasijevic led Panionios to a tie-break, but Panathinaikos remained undefeated

Panathinaikos extended its winning streak in the Women's Volleyball League in Greece, after dramatically defeating Panionios 3:2 (25:16, 25:21, 26:28, 23:25, 15:11) in a match that lasted 131 minutes.

The match was marked by the strong performance of Elitsa Atanasievich, who played a key role in Panionios' resurgence. The Bulgarian outside hitter particularly excelled in the fourth set, when with a series of powerful serves and solid play at the net, she helped the team from Nea Smyrni equalize at 2:2 and force the match into a tie-break.

In the decisive fifth set, however, Panathinaikos showed greater class and composure. A series of serves from Bennett and solid defensive play tipped the scales in favor of the "Greens," who achieved their 13th consecutive victory in the championship.

For Panionios, Polina Rahimova was the most effective with 31 points, but Elitsa Atanasievich, who finished with 7 points, once again confirmed her importance to the team with her presence in key moments and a leadership role, especially in the comeback during the fourth set.
Panathinaikos remains a convincing leader with a perfect record of 11 wins and no losses, which highlights their dominance throughout the season. Panionios, despite suffering a loss, is third in the provisional standings and remains in contention for the playoff spots.
