One of the best volleyball players in the world, Wilfredo Leon, took third place in the 91st "Przegląd Sportowy" poll for the best Polish athlete of 2025. The award was announced during the traditional Gala of Sports Champions in Poland, which gathers the elite of Polish sports every year.

The player for Bogdanka LUK Lublin and the Polish national team did not attend the ceremony in person; his award was received by his wife. Leon joined with a video message, in which he thanked for the recognition and support he receives from fans and the volleyball community in the country.

The winner of the poll was Klaudia Zwolińska (kayaking), second place went to tennis player Iga Świątek, and Wilfredo Leon's third place once again underscored the importance of volleyball among the leading sports in Poland.

In 2025, Leon was among the key figures in both club volleyball and with the national team. His consistent high-level play, leadership on the court, and decisive performances in key moments logically earned him a place among the most successful Polish athletes of the year.

Wilfredo Leon's presence on the podium in the "Przegląd Sportowy" poll is further proof of volleyball's strong position in Poland and his role as one of the most influential players in contemporary European volleyball.
