Hours before the start of the second half of the season, Dunav (Ruse) officially strengthened its squad with the experienced Croatian outside hitter Ante Giljanović. The management of the Ruse club reacted in time by signing a player who can bring class and security in attack in the crucial part of the championship.
Giljanović is 32 years old, 196 cm tall, and possesses significant international experience. He has participated in European club tournaments with the teams MOK Mursa Osijek and Budva Volley, where he has gained valuable high-level experience.
In his career, the Croatian outside hitter has also played for Mladost Ribola Kaštela (Croatia), Romanian Unirea Dej, Italian Efficienza Energia Galatina, as well as Libyan Al Naser Sports Club. This rich journey shapes his profile as a complete and adaptable player who has played in various championships and volleyball schools.
Ante Giljanović is expected to bring stability in reception, power in attack, and experience in tense moments – elements that can be key for Dunav (Ruse) in the second half of the season.
Fans of Ruse volleyball will be able to see the new signing as early as Monday, when Dunav (Ruse) hosts Pirin (Razlog) – a match that marks the resumption of the championship and sets the beginning of a new stage in the battle for a better ranking.
