The match in Szeged was DEAC's first game of 2026 in the Hungarian Men's Extraliga, and the Debrecen team achieved their preliminary goal – three points as visitors. Only in the second set did the hosts manage to put up more serious resistance.
In the first set, the score was tied at 5:5, after which DEAC made a 3:0 run and gradually took control. It was an ace by Ivan Tasev that extended the lead to five points (13:8), and the visitors did not relinquish the initiative until the end.
