Serie A2: the standings that sent the "Bulgarian" teams to the Italian Cup

After the end of the first half of the season in Serie A2 Credem Banca, the final standings determined which teams continue their participation inDel Monte® Coppa Italia Serie A2. From the perspective of Bulgarian presence, a place in the tournament was found byRavenna and Sorrento.

Place Team Points Cup participation
3 Ravenna 28 Yes
8 Sorrento 17 Yes

Ravenna solidified its position among the leading teams in the championship and enters the Cup from a relatively advantageous third position. Sorrento, who gained promotion to A2, although eighth, managed to qualify at the last moment, which highlights the parity in the middle of the table and the high value of every point won during the half-season.

Out of the Cup

  • Macerata A– 10th place, 15 points →will not participate in the Italian Cup

  • Cantù – 14th place, 8 points → last in the standings and out of the tournament

This means that in the second half of the season, the focus for Macerata and Cantù will be entirely on the championship, while Ravenna and Sorrento will divide their efforts between the championship and the cup battles.
