Branimir Grozdanov makes his debut for Dinamo Bucharest in Bulgaria

Branimir Grozdanov is on the verge of a new challenge in his career – a transfer to the Romanian giant and current champion Dinamo București.volleyweek.bgwas the first to report on this upcoming transfer as early as December 23, when information about the possible outgoing move was also confirmed by his last club CSKA.

In the last few hours, Dinamo officially announced the acquisition of the 31-year-old Bulgarian, who will strengthen the squad during the winter transfer window. Grozdanov is an outside hitter, 1.98 m tall, a player with rich international experience and an established profile as a powerful player.

His career over the last decade is indicative of a stable international presence – Italy, France, Turkey, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, and South Korea are part of the geography he has covered. It is precisely this adaptability and accumulated experience that make Grozdanov a valuable asset for a team like Dinamo, which traditionally seeks a balance between performance and routine in key moments of the season.

An interesting detail about the transfer is that Grozdanov is expected to make his debut for his new team precisely in Bulgaria. On January 6, Dinamo București will visit Lokomotiv Avia Plovdiv in the second leg of the CEV Cup Round of 32 – a match that will provide the first opportunity for the Bulgarian public to see Grozdanov in the 'white and red' kit.
If this happens, the match will have an additional charge – not only because of the European stakes but also because of the symbolism of a home debut with a new club. For Grozdanov, this will also be his first season in the Romanian league, as he has not yet had contact with the championship of our northern neighbor.
Branimir Grozdanov's transfer to Dinamo București also opens the door for an intriguing Bulgarian derby in the Romanian championship between the two capital giants – Dinamo with Grozdanov and Steaua with Krasimir Georgiev and Svetoslav Ivanov.

Dinamo București continues its consistent policy of attracting experienced foreign players, and the profile of the Bulgarian national fully fits this strategy. For Grozdanov, the transfer is a logical next step – a new league, European matches, and an opportunity for a key role in the second half of the season.
