After the Supercup – to a new goal: Alex Grozdanov and Bogdanka LUK Lublin among the four for the Polish Cup

One Alex dropped out of the Italian Cup competition, but the other will play for a trophy – and that after having already won a Supercup. This is briefly the current situation for the two Bulgarian national players Alex Nikolov and Alex Grozdanov in club tournaments.

While Alex Nikolov will not participate in the final phase of the Italian Cup, as his team failed to make its way among the participants, Alex Grozdanov is in a completely different situation. The middle blocker is part of Bogdanka LUK Lublin, who qualified for the final tournament of the Polish Cup and continues their strong performance this season.

Bogdanka will be among the four teams that will compete for the trophy on January 10 and 11 in Tauron Arena in Krakow. In addition to the team from Lublin, Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, PGE Projekt Warszawa, and Asseco Resovia Rzeszów also enter the competition. In the semi-finals, Bogdanka will face Olsztyn, while in the second pair, Projekt Warszawa will meet Resovia.

The path to the final tournament was not without difficulties, but Lublin cemented its role as a favorite, albeit with moments of hesitation. However, this does not change the overall picture – Alex Grozdanov's team already has one trophy this season, having started the campaign by winning the Polish Supercup, and now confidently looks towards the possibility of adding the Cup.

Thus, fate places the two Alexes in different roles – Nikolov remains out of the fight for the cup in Italy, and Grozdanov will be on the big stage in Krakow, with a real chance for his season in Poland to become one of the most successful in his career to date.
