Volleyball with four representatives in the Top 10 young athletes of Bulgaria for 2025

Four young volleyball players found a place among the ten most prominent Bulgarian athletes under 19 for 2025, with world champions and the world vice-champion from the national teams clearly standing out among them. This is shown by the final results of the voting in the 14th edition of the traditional survey by the specialized website for youth sportsViasport.bg.

The survey involved 133 sports journalists, who cast their votes among a total of 56 individual athletes under 19, four teams, and five coaches working in youth sports.

The official awards ceremony is scheduled for January 10, 2026, and will take place in the theatre hall of the Private International School 'St. George' in Sofia.

In the golden top ten ofViasport.bg for 2025, listed alphabetically, are:

Alexander Vasilev (tennis)
Valentina Georgieva (artistic gymnastics)
Victoria Ninova (volleyball)
Dimana Ivanova (volleyball)
Ivan Ivanov (tennis)
Kalina Veneva (volleyball)
Malena Zamfirova (snowboard)
Nikola Tsolov (motorsport)
Simeon Nikolov (volleyball)
Hristiyan Kasabov (athletics)

The presence of volleyball is particularly strong, with honorees including players from Bulgaria's world champion team for girls under 19, as well as a key figure from the national team for boys under 19, which won silver medals at the world championship.

For the teams, again in alphabetical order, the top 3 include:

The Bulgarian junior rhythmic gymnastics ensemble
The U19 girls' national volleyball team - world champion
The U19 boys' national volleyball team - world runner-up

In the ranking for best youth coaches, listed alphabetically, the following were honored:

Atanas Petrov (volleyball)
Kristina Ilieva (rhythmic gymnastics)
Miroslav Zhivkov (volleyball)
