Brazilian becomes teammate of Vladimir Garkov, the Bulgarian at home for Christmas

French elite club Saint-Nazaire (SNVBA) officially announced the signing of experienced Brazilian setter Eduardo Carisio, who will be a new teammate of Bulgarian outside hitter Vladimir Garkov. The transfer was completed during the current transfer window and aims to strengthen the team for the decisive second part of the season.

Carisio is 30 years old, 1.90 m tall, and arrives in Saint-Nazaire after a stint in Izmir, where he played last season. The Brazilian is well acquainted with the French Ligue A, having played for Poitiers during the 2021/2022 season, which significantly eases his adaptation to the league and playing environment.

The club's management emphasizes that the new signing will bring greater variability in setting, good game reading, and quality serving, factors that can increase offensive efficiency and stability in crucial moments of matches.

It is important to note that Eduardo Carisio will be registered for the matches in the second half of the championship, meaning his first official minutes in the blue jersey will come after the end of the first phase.

For Vladimir Garkov, who is a key figure in receiving and net play for Saint-Nazaire, the signing of a setter with international experience creates conditions for better synchronization in attack and more stable wing play in important matches.

Before that, however, Saint-Nazaire has one more commitment from the first part of the season – on December 30th, the team will play against Plessis-Robinson in "Coubertin" Hall in their last match of the first half, after which attention will turn to the second part of the championship and the integration of the new Brazilian signing.

The news of his new teammate reached Vladi Garkov in Bulgaria, where he returned yesterday. As soon as he set foot on home soil, Garkov, a product of the "blue" academy, went to "Hristo Botev" Hall to watch the Bulgarian Women's Cup final between "Levski" and "Maritsa". Garkov will spend Christmas at home, after which he will head back to France on December 26th.
