CSKA secured a spot in the semifinals of the Bulgarian Cup tournament for women after a decisive victory over Dragoman. In "Hristo Botev" hall, Yulia Ivanova's team left no doubt about their superiority and won 3:0 (25:16, 25:21, 25:22).
The "Reds" completely controlled the course of the match, setting their tempo already in the first set with aggressive serves and solid net play. In the next two sets, Dragoman's resistance was more noticeable, but CSKA demonstrated the necessary concentration in key moments and closed out the match without unnecessary hesitation.
With this success, the "Army women" advance in the battle for the trophy, and the next obstacle is more than symbolic. On Saturday, CSKA faces Levski in a semifinal, which pits the two biggest rivals in Bulgarian volleyball against each other. The "Eternal Derby" will determine one of the finalists for the Bulgarian Cup, with the decisive match for the trophy scheduled for Sunday.
Expectations are for a high-intensity match with serious stakes, in which not only form but also mental resilience will be decisive.
