Maritsa (Plovdiv) and Levski Sofia are the first semifinalists in the efbet Bulgarian Women's Volleyball Cup tournament. The current trophy holder from Plovdiv convincingly defeated Minyor (Pernik) 3:0 (25:10, 25:16, 25:15), while the 'Blues' gave Slavia no chance and won their quarterfinal 3:0 (25:16, 25:16, 25:8).
The semifinal matches will take place on December 20 (Saturday) in the capital's 'Hristo Botev' hall. Maritsa will face the winner of the pair TPVK (Sofia) – Maritsa 2022, and Levski will contend for a place in the final with the better team from the CSKA – Dragoman match.
The champions from Maritsa decided the outcome of the match against Minyor in the opening minutes, quickly building a significant lead with powerful serves and stable play in all elements. The Plovdiv team controlled the development in all three sets, did not allow a comeback, and logically closed the match in three sets.
In the other quarterfinal, the volleyball players of Levski Sofia demonstrated complete superiority against Slavia. In the 'Hristo Botev' hall, Radoslav Arsov's team never once allowed themselves to fall behind in the score, imposed a high tempo from the very first set, and without pressure achieved a convincing 3:0 victory, with the third set ending in a devastating 25:8.
