Christmas is approaching, but for the fans of Cucine Lube Civitanova, the holiday came early. On Tuesday evening, "Predators" and "Lube nel Cuore" transformed the traditional Christmas dinner into a true red-and-white show, filled with emotions, music, and a strong bond between the team and its supporters. And amidst all the smiles, applause, and toasts, one figure stood out particularly brightly – the Bulgarian Alex Nikolov, who showed that besides his attacks over the net, he can also impress with his voice.
The event, symbolically titled "Tu non mi basti mai" ("You are never enough for me"), took place at Villa Gazzani between Civitanova Marche and Montecosaro Scalo and gathered over 300 people – players, coaching staff, management, and fans of Italy's vice-champions. The hall proved too small, and cars filled even the spaces outside the huge parking lots – further proof of the scale and devotion of the tifosi to Lube.
Alex Nikolov – volleyball ace and Christmas singer
The true culmination of the evening, however, came during the singing games. There, Alex Nikolov became the undisputed MVP after performing George Michael's "Last Christmas" – the legendary hit by the duo Wham!. His video greeting quickly appeared on the social network X, gathering numerous likes and comments within hours. The Bulgarian international impressed not only with his stage presence but also with confidence and a clear tone, which drew thunderous applause in the hall. This is not the first time Nikolov has taken the microphone. Everyone remembers the videos from the Bulgarian ace's home in Civitanova, when he, along with other Bulgarians - Samuil Valchinov and Hristiyan Dimitrov, sang karaoke with Bulgarian songs.
Although the ultimate victory in the competition went to the "veterans," who humorously declared themselves "the team of the beautiful ones," it was Alex who was the great crowd favorite. Smiles, laughter, and endless applause accompanied his every appearance with a microphone in hand.
Fans who make a difference
The evening once again highlighted the power of Lube's tifosi – both in the stands with drums and megaphones, and outside the hall. The president of the fan club, Giuliana Griffantini, reported record interest in all initiatives during the season, and the long-time organizer of away games, Pino Cozzi, received well-deserved recognition.
Among the official speeches, Albino Massaccesi – executive director and vice-president of the club – called "Lube nel Cuore" the most respectful and devoted fan group in Italy. General Director Beppe Cormio also emphasized the importance of a full hall, making an appeal to the fans before the home game against Piacenza on December 26th.
A Red-and-white Christmas with a Bulgarian accent
Lube's Christmas evening was more than a celebration – it was a demonstration of unity, identity, and emotion. And for the Bulgarian audience, the most pleasant touch remains Alex Nikolov, who proved that he can be a leader not only on the court but also on stage. In Civitanova, Christmas sounded in white and red, and this year – also with a Bulgarian voice.
