In the opening match of the 12th round of PlusLiga, PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów defeated Ślepsk Malow Suwałki at home with a score of 3:1 sets (25:27, 25:14, 25:21, 25:16).
The guests from Suwałki started strong and confidently, winning the first set after a tough battle with a score of 27:25, led by Bartosz Filipiak's solid attacking play and Enrique Honorato's service ace. After that, however, the initiative completely shifted to the hosts.
Skra sharply increased their serving and blocking efficiency, while Ślepsk faced serious difficulties in attack. The second set was decisively won 25:14, and in the next two, the Bełchatów players maintained consistency and did not allow a comeback, despite Asparuh Asparuhov's attempts to keep his team in the match.
Bulgarian national outside hitter Asparuhov finished with 16 points, +11 in the "plus/minus" stat, 1 ace, 37% positive and 19% perfect reception, and 50% attack efficiency (36% effectiveness). This, however, was not enough to avoid Ślepsk's 12th loss, leaving them in 12th place in the standings.

The son of former Bulgarian national player Radostina Rangelova-Tsitigoy, Daniel Tsitigoy, finished with 16 points for the winners, while Skra's setter Grzegorz Łomacz was named MVP of the match.
In the next round, Ślepsk Malow Suwałki will host Barkom Każany Lwów.
