The Italian club triumphed as the new world champion after defeatingConegliano 3:1, in a match that was a repeat of the Champions League final, but this time with a different winner.
Antropova was undisputed in attack throughout the tournament and especially in the final match. Scandicci's opposite hitter dominated in all key moments, being the main scorer and the factor that tipped the scales in favor of the new champion. Indicative of Scandicci's superiority is also the fact that the teamlost their first set in the tournament only in the final match.
