The captain of the national team will continue to wear the Bogdanka kit

Bulgarian international Alex Grozdanov will continue his career with Polish club BOGDANKA LUK Lublin through the 2026/2027 season, the club officially announced. Thus, the current silver medalist from the World Championship in the Philippines solidifies his position as one of the leading names in PlusLiga and a key figure in the team's project.

The middle blocker has been defending the club's colors since the 2024/2025 season, making a significant impact in his very first year in the Polish league. Grozdanov finished the season in second place in the ranking of best blockers in PlusLiga with 99 block points, a statistic that placed him among the league's elite.

This current season, the Bulgarian player is even improving his performance. After the matches played so far, he leads the blockers' ranking with 29 block points, which underscores his stable form and crucial role in Lublin's defense.

Grozdanov's resume includes impressive accolades – second in the world, Polish champion, CEV Challenge Cup winner, and AL-KO Polish Supercup winner. This experience and consistency are among the main reasons the club's management has decided to rely on him for the next competitive cycle as well.

With the extension of his contract, Alex Grozdanov establishes himself as one of the most stable middle blockers in PlusLiga, and for Bulgarian volleyball, this is further proof of the high level of local players in one of Europe's strongest leagues.

We remind you that three other key players from the Polish champion's main squad will also continue with Bogdanka next season – these are Polish internationals Wilfredo Leon, Kevin Sasak, and Marcin Komenda.
