Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri '76 secured its best-ever ranking to date –third place with 29 points– after a convincing victory over Perugia with3:0 (25:22, 25:14, 25:15). With this success, the club secured its participation in the Cup and will host UYBA.
Novara displaces Milan and seizes home-court advantage
Igor Gorgonzola Novara achieved a decisive victory over Il Bisonte Firenze –3:0 (25:21, 25:17, 25:16)– and gained crucial points that propelled the team to fourth place, overtaking Milan. This guarantees home-court advantage in the quarter-final against the same strong opponent.
Scandicci defeats Milan and sets up the derby with Vallefoglia
Scandicci defeated Milan with3:0 (25:23, 25:22, 25:23)in a match directly influencing the distribution of positions in the Top 5. Thus, Barbolini's team finishes second and will face Vallefoglia in the elimination match.
Macerata – Bergamo: drama for the last spot in the Top 8
One of the most intense matches was that between Macerata and Bergamo
–3:2 (25:21, 21:25, 25:23, 21:25, 16:14).
Despite the loss, the point gained from the tie-break, combined with Cuneo's defeat, allowed Bergamo to retaineighth position, the last one giving the right to participate in the Cup.
