Elitsa Vasileva-Atanasijevic leads Panionios to third consecutive victory

Panionios continued its upward streak and recorded a third consecutive victory in the Greek championship, convincingly defeating Milon 3:0 (25:20, 25:20, 25:17) in 82 minutes of play in the Nea Smyrni derby. The match had a special focus – the performance of the Bulgarian national playerElitsa Vasileva Atanasievic, who played one of her strongest matches since the start of the season. She was not only the leading scorer for her team, but also the driving force in key moments when Panionios broke the opponent's resistance.

The Bulgarian opposite hitter finished with18 points – 15 in attack, 3 blocks, with53% attack efficiency and stable reception (33% perfect). Her influence on Panionios' game began in the first set, continued through the decisive final points of the second, and solidified as a factor in the third.

Atanasievic demonstrated the most valuable qualities for an elite-level athlete: composure, ability to finish rallies under pressure, and consistency in defense, which broke Milon's momentum.

First set – the run that turned everything around

Milon started more sharply, but when trailing4:6 the Bulgarian stepped up to serve and Panionios reached10:6 – a moment that completely changed the dynamic of the set.
At 23:20, it was her two consecutive attacks that closed out the set.

Second set – the final touch

The 10:0 run at the start provided the necessary lead, but at 24:20 and with Milon closing in again, the pressure fell on Atanasievic. She scored a decisive attack point for 25:20 – the second consecutive set closed by the Bulgarian.

Third set – control until the very end

With Panionios' newfound confidence, Atanasievic contributed steadily in both attack and block to maintain the distance. In this set, Panionios was undisputed and finished at 25:17.
With this fifth victory, Panionios positioned itself in fourth place in the provisional standings.
