New victory for Bogdanka, Grozdanov more modest this time

Bulgarian national team captain Alex Grozdanov and Polish champions Bogdanka LUK (Lublin) achieved their fifth consecutive and eighth overall victory of the season in the PlusLiga, after convincingly defeating Indykpol AZS (Olsztyn) 3:0 (25:18, 25:17, 25:17) in a 10th-round match played in front of 4221 spectators. The success propelled the team from Lublin to second place in the provisional standings with 8 wins, 3 losses, and 25 points, although with one more match played than their direct competitors. In the next round, Grozdanov and his teammates will visit Cuprum Stilon (Gorzow) on Sunday, December 14, at 3:45 PM Bulgarian time.

The Bulgarian middle blocker played the full match and finished with 6 points, including 1 block and 45% attack efficiency. Despite his more modest scoring, he stabilized the game's organization and actively participated in the block-defense system, which was a key factor in the convincing success.

The most valuable player, as expected, was opposite hitter Kevin Sasak, who put on a real show and finished with 18 points (1 block, 65% attack efficiency). He was named the MVP of the match. Wilfredo Leon added 15 points (3 blocks, 1 ace) and demonstrated control over the segments where the opponent tried to catch up. For Indykpol AZS, Paweł Halaba scored 7 points, and Moritz Karlitzek – 6.

The match proceeded under the complete dominance of the hosts, despite expectations for an evenly contested encounter between teams with an equal number of victories before the start.

A solid team, bright individualities, and control in all elements – this was LUK's recipe, and the excellent performance of the Bulgarian captain in Poland remains an important highlight in the strong season for the team from Lublin.
