Camillo Placi led Tunisia to the trophy in the first edition of the Arab Challenge Cup

The national team of Tunisia, led by the Italian Camillo Placi – well-known in Bulgaria for his work at the helm of our national team – triumphed at the first edition of the Arab Challenge Cup in Jordan. The North Africans secured the title even before the last match, demonstrating an exceptional level of preparation and tactical discipline.

It is important to recall that it was Camillo Placi who qualified Tunisia for the 1/8 final at the World Championship in the Philippines, which was one of the country's strongest performances on the global stage in recent years. This success laid the foundation for the current progress and established Placi as the architect of the new face of Tunisian volleyball.

Four matches, four wins, four times 3:0

Tunisia achieved a perfect record in their first four matches, all ending with a convincing 3:0 score:

  • Tunisia – Kuwait 3:0 (25:19, 25:19, 25:20)

  • Tunisia – Egypt 3:0 (25:19, 25:19, 25:20)

  • Tunisia – Jordan 3:0 (25:19, 25:19, 25:20)

  • Tunisia – Palestine 3:0 (25:19, 25:19, 25:20)

Placi's team demonstrated undeniable dominance. Not a single lost set, maximum points, and a direct victory over their only real rival – Egypt. This is a characteristic hallmark of the Italian specialist, who emphasizes control, stability, and continuous tactical superiority.

After the round of 16 at the World Championship in the Philippines and now – the trophy in the Arab Challenge Cup – Placi continues to build one of the most promising teams in the Arab region. The last match against Bahrain will be merely a formality because the title is already in the hands of the Tunisians.

The Italian specialist shows once again that he leaves his mark everywhere he works – including in Tunisia, which under his leadership has become one of the leaders in Arab volleyball.
