Saint-Nazaire with a complete turnaround against Nice, Vladi Garkov again among the leaders

Following Veni Antov's strong performance over the weekend, another Bulgarian national shone in the French Ligue A. Vladimir Garkov and his Saint-Nazaire team staged a full comeback at home against Nice, after trailing 0:2 in sets, but achieved a dramatic 3:2 victory (19:25, 20:25, 25:20, 25:16, 15:13). The triumph came thanks to the impressive individual performances of Garkov and German opposite hitter Philipp John, who returned to the starting lineup after missing the derby against Tours.

The Bulgarian outside hitter recorded one of his strongest matches since the start of the season. Garkov finished the match with 23 points, having made 21 successful attacks out of 42 attempts, achieving a 50% attack success rate with 33% efficiency. His reception was also solid 54% positive receptions, and he added 2 direct points from serves. His role in turning the match around was crucial, especially in the fourth set, when his plays provided the impetus towards the tie-break.

Even more impressive were the numbers of opposite hitter Philipp John, who once again led Saint-Nazaire's attack. The German national finished the match with 29 points, realizing 28 attacks from 45 attempts a full 67% success rate and 57% efficiency, as well as 1 block.

Despite the defeat, David Dulski was Nice's true leader. He finished with 25 points and maintained the team's lead for a long time in the first two sets.

With this fourth win of the season, Saint-Nazaire moves away from the relegation zone and now occupies 11th place in the provisional standings. At the bottom remains the Chaumont team, led by Silvano Prandi.

In the next round, Vladi Garkov and his team will visit Montpellier on December 6th, in a match that could further solidify Saint-Nazaire's improving form.
