Bulgarian-born former Turkish international again heads to Indonesia

Indonesian club Jakarta Electric PLN has officially signed experienced outside hitter Neriman Özsoy – a name with an impressive international resume and hundreds of high-level matches. Born in 1988 in Razgrad, Bulgaria, and standing 1.88 m tall, Özsoy is one of the most skilled volleyball players developed in the Turkish system. Her career began at the famous Eczacıbaşı, but even her early years suggested that her talent would take her far beyond the borders of Turkey.

A rich career, spanning the globe

After her first steps at Eczacıbaşı, Özsoy moved through some of the strongest clubs in Russia – Uralochka NTMK and Dinamo Krasnodar, where she encountered one of the toughest and most demanding systems in world volleyball.

After that, her path took her through Turkey (Karşıyaka, Galatasaray, Türk Hava Yolları), through Poland (Atom Trefl Sopot), Italy (Imoco Conegliano, Modena), Japan (Toyota Auto Body Queenseis, NEC Red Rockets, Denso Airybees) and even Brazil (Itambé Minas).

Özsoy is already familiar with the Indonesian championship – in the 2024/25 season she played for Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, and now she returns to the country, this time with the Jakarta Electric PLN team, which she reinforces until the end of the season.
