Dunav with first success, Neftochimic and Pirin uncompromising in the midweek round of Super Volley

The first big news of the midweek 6th round came from Ruse, where Dunav finally broke their streak of five consecutive losses and achieved their first win of the season. Plamen Hristov's team defeated Slavia 3:1 (25:17, 25:22, 27:29, 25:20) and for the first time this year delighted their fans in Dunav Hall. The Ruse team demonstrated the necessary stability in crucial moments, with Alex Nikolov making a particularly strong impression with his 22 points and three blocks. Ognian Hristov and Aleksandar Kordev joined him, adding 13 and 12 points respectively. For Slavia, Konstantin Dinov and Georgi Kostadinov were the top scorers with 15 points each, but the "whites'" performance was not enough to stop the hosts' momentum. With this win, Dunav climbed to ninth place in the standings and will rest in the next round, while Slavia prepares for the challenge against champions Levski Sofia.

A little later, attention turned to Burgas, where Neftochimic 2010 once again demonstrated why they are the most stable team since the start of the season. Francesco Cadeddu's boys achieved their fifth consecutive victory, this time against Cherno More, and in the cleanest possible fashion – 3:0 (25:23, 25:18, 25:19). The first set offered some intrigue, as the Varna team almost erased their 19:24 deficit but ultimately failed to close the gap. From then on, Neftochimic took full control of the match, and the brilliance this time came from two different sources – opposite hitter Adi Osmanovic, who scored 18 points, and Ventsislav Ragin, named MVP with an impressive five blocks. With this success, the Burgas team remains sole leaders with a perfect record of wins, while Cherno More continues to search for their first success and remains in last place with just two points to their name.

In Razlog, Pirin confirmed their strong home performance and literally crushed Beroe 2016 with a 3:0 (25:23, 25:16, 25:17) victory. Blagovest Katrandzhiev's team showed enviable discipline in attack and stability in reception, with Marian Nakov once again being the most effective player with 17 points and 53% attack efficiency. Veteran Kostadin Gadzhanov also performed no less impressively, finishing with 11 points, with a perfect six successful attacks and a total of four blocks. Zlatko Kyosev added another dose of stability with three aces and good reception. On the opposing side, Beroe primarily relied on Ivan Latunov, who finished with 10 points, but his team never found a mechanism to counter the hosts' diverse play.

Thus, the midweek 6th round painted a clear picture – Dunav instilled hope after a difficult start, Neftochimic continued their victorious march and solidified their leading position, and Pirin showed that they remain a factor, especially in their home hall. The next round promises more intrigue – from the Montana – Neftochimic duel, through Pirin's home game in Plovdiv, to the Slavia – Levski match. The season continues to unfold dynamically, and teams in the middle and bottom are already starting to feel the pressure of every won or lost set.
