Levski's head coach Nikolay Zhelyazkov stated that his team at this stage is not ready for the Champions League level. He emphasized that the squad is fundamentally different from last year's, and their participation in the tournament back then helped in the development of more experienced young players like Antov, Garkov, Kolev, and Palev. According to him, the volleyball players who finished the last set against Guaguas are "too green" for such competition, and the better team deservedly won both matches.
Zhelyazkov also pointed out a key moment in the second set when Levski missed three attacks against a single block – something unacceptable at this level and directly affecting the result.
The coach also revealed a concerning picture regarding the team's personnel situation. "We play with six people from Wednesday to Saturday," he said, specifying that there are players over 30 years old, as well as serious injuries – including a 2 cm tear of the biceps muscle for Damyan Kolev. Every day the staff "fights a battle" to assemble a squad for a match, with the hope that the situation will improve over time.
