Grottazzolina recorded a heavy seventh loss since the start of the season, capitulating at home against Piacenza with a decisive 0:3 (14:25, 15:25, 18:25). The match was completely dictated by the visitors, who imposed their higher tempo from the very first rallies and left no chances for their opponent.
The hosts never found a way to counter Piacenza's far superior team. Only receiver Magalini managed to reach double digits with 10 points, but even this was not enough to give the team momentum.

The Bulgarian internationals also had an off day. Iliya Petkov started as a regular, but remained on the court only during the first and second sets, finishing the match with just 2 points from attack. Georgi Tatarov appeared as a starter in the third set and scored a modest 3 points, without being able to change the course of the match.
For Piacenza, the leader was middle blocker captain Robertlandy Simón, who finished with 16 points and demonstrated his huge influence both in attack and on the block. Behind him were Bovolenta with 12 points, as well as Mandiradji and Galassi, who added 11 each.

With the three points earned, Piacenza climbs to seventh place in the standings with a total of 12 points. However, the situation for Grottazzolina is becoming increasingly alarming – the team has only one point after the first rounds and is confidently heading towards relegation.
And the next round bodes nothing good. Grottazzolina visits the strong and ambitious Modena team – a match in which the task of getting anything more seems almost impossible.
