IBB lost to Galatasaray, but Denislav Bardarov was again the top scorer

Bulgarian international Denislav Bardarov continues his strong run in the Turkish Efeler League. The outside hitter for İBB Spor Kulübü was once again the highest-scoring and most heavily utilized player for his team, but this was not enough to stop the class of Galatasaray HDI Sigorta. The visitors won 3:1 sets – 25:20, 20:25, 25:22, 25:20 – in a match from the 4th round (match #26) of the championship.

Individual Statistics – Denislav Bardarov (IBB)

Bardarov finished the match with an impressive 21 points – 19 in attack, 1 block, and 1 ace. The IBB outside hitter received a huge volume in attack: 31 attacks, from which he achieved a 61% success rate and 45% overall efficiency – metrics of a leading first offensive option.

In reception, the Bulgarian international also performed stably: 35 receptions with only 1 error, 57% positive, and 49% perfect reception. This means that almost half of the balls directed to him allowed the setter to develop a full-fledged attack.

On serve, Bardarov took bold risks – 13 serves, 6 errors, but also 1 direct point from a serve (ace). Although the negative efficiency is evident in the statistics, his aggressive serve made Galatasaray's reception difficult and was part of the hosts' attempt to match the opponent's class.

Galatasaray's Attack Leaders

Despite Bardarov's strong performance, Galatasaray HDI Sigorta demonstrated greater depth and balance in their squad. The top scorers for the winners were:

  • Jean Patry – 20 points (16 in attack, 3 blocks, and 1 ace), with 55% success rate in attack;
