Tonight, Vladimir Nikolov will debut as an assistant coach for the men's national U20 team. The legend joined the staff of head coach Miroslav Zhivkov for theBalkan Championshipin Serbia (August 13-17) and the upcomingEuropean Championshipin Serbia and Greece (August 26 - September 7). After ending his competitive career, Nikolov was already a coach for a youth national team, as well as for VC Levski, where he is now co-president of the club.

The Balkan Games begin today in the Serbian resort town of Vrnjačka Banja. The hall is named after basketball legend Vlade Divac. One of the groups for the upcoming European Championship for teams in this age category will be played there (we are in the group in the Greek city of Arta).
 

The first match for the team led by Miroslav Zhivkov is against Moldova at 9 PM. The Bulgarian team arrived in Vrnjačka Banja on Monday and immediately held a practice. Today, Zhivkov and Nikolov led the team for a second session.

Bulgaria is in Group B along with Albania, Moldova, and Turkey. Serbia, North Macedonia, and Greece are in the other group. Everyone plays against everyone, and the top two advance to the semifinals.
