Prata continued their home campaign and left no chance for Macerata, winning decisively 3:0 (25:19, 25:19, 25:22). The hosts controlled the rhythm throughout the match, and Bulgarian internationals Denis Karyagin and Rusi Zhelev were among the few bright spots for the visitors in a match marked by personnel problems and Tinet's strength in their own hall.
In all three sets, Tinet controlled the match, relying on tighter play, strong serving, and a solid block. For Prata, Cristian Gamba was the top scorer with 19 points, including 4 aces and 1 block, and Ernastović was named MVP.
The Bulgarian internationals were once again among the leading figures for Macerata. Rusi Zhelev finished with 6 points, adding an ace, a block, as well as 33% attack efficiency and 33% positive reception. Denis Karyagin scored 14 points, including an ace, with 54% attack success and 49% positive reception. The two were the main axis that kept the team in the game in the third set, when Macerata even caught up to a 14:14 tie and later 22:22.
Nevertheless, Prata's dominance at the beginning of each set, better serving (7 aces vs 3) and a slight advantage in blocking (4 vs 3) tilted the match in favor of the hosts. The absence of the injured Novello and libero Gabanelli further complicated the visitors' task.
After this fifth loss of the season, Macerata dropped to 9th place with 4 points, while Prata solidified their impressive home form with a third consecutive 3:0 victory in their hall.
The hosts proved that PalaPrata remains a true fortress, and Macerata will have to quickly regroup to break their negative streak.
