The arbitration ruled: Cisterna's victory over Monza stands

The Sports Arbitration rejected Vero Volley Monza's appeal and confirmed the result of the match against Cisterna Volley, won by the visitors after a dramatic tie-break.

After the end of the match, Monza's management filed a protest, claiming that in the last point at 13:14 the referee made a mistake by accepting a late request for a video-check from the Cisterna team. The Italians insisted that the match should be replayed.

The arbitration, however, ruled that the protest was filed too late and there were no grounds to consider it on its merits. Thus, the result remains unchanged, and Cisterna retains its 3:2 sets victory.

⚠️ Sanctions

The only penalty after the match is a warning for middle blocker Thomas Beretta from Monza.
Martin Atanasov and Zhasmin Velichkov are not affected by the decision.

The arbitration's decision puts an end to the saga. Monza tried to dispute the outcome of the last point, but formalities and deadlines proved decisive.
The match will be remembered as one of the most tense since the beginning of the season for the team from Brianza – with drama until the last hit and with Bulgarian participation in a key role.
