The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation will officially present the new head coach of the women's national team – Marcello Abbondanza next week. The Italian specialist will speak to the media on Monday, November 17, at 12:00 PM in Press Club "Bulgaria" at the "Vasil Levski" National Stadium.

The event will be attended by representatives of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, members of the sports-technical management, and Abbondanza himself, who will outline his vision for the development and future of the women's national team.
We remind you that Abbondanza was elected by a majority to this position at the last meeting of the BFV Management Board, receiving 10 votes. The other candidates - Ivan Petkov received 5 votes and Radoslav Arsov 1.

Marcello Abbondanza is among the most experienced Italian coaches in women's volleyball. In his career, he has led the national teams of Turkey and Canada, as well as numerous clubs from the strongest European championships. With his characteristic work style, dedication, and demands for discipline, the Italian has established himself as a specialist capable of building competitive teams and motivating his players to their utmost.

Abbondanza's appointment comes at a time when Bulgaria is seeking stability and new impetus in its performance on the international stage. It is expected that at his first meeting with the media, the new head coach will present his preparation plan, priorities, and criteria for building the team in the Olympic cycle leading up to Los Angeles 2028.
