Megabox showed character but remained with a point against Novara, Stoyanova did not enter the game

The team ofMegabox Ondulati del Savio Vallefogliadramatically lost 2:3 (16-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-16, 13-15) in their away match againstIgor Gorgonzola Novara, but managed to secure a valuable point after a strong performance and a comeback from 0:2 to 2:2. Coach Alberto Pistola's team showed significant improvement in their game and competed almost equally against one of the giants of the Italian championship.

After a weak first set, the 'tigers' from Vallefoglia raised their level and even dictated the pace in the following sets. Loveth Omoruyi played an impressive match with 26 points, while Aurora Bicci added 22. Giovannini (11 pts.) and Butigan (8 pts.) also made important contributions, while libero De Bortoli stabilized the reception.

This time, however, Mikaela Stoyanova did not get playing time, even though she was in the squad. Tsvetomira Mitkova also remained without minutes, as she has not yet played since the start of the season in Serie A1. Pistola's decision to rely on more experienced players proved justified in the middle of the match, but the freshness from the bench was lacking in the key moments of the tie-break.
The MVP of the match was Japanese international Mayu Ishikawa, who was decisive with her serving run at the end.

After the match, Omoruyi emphasized that the loss "is painful, but gives confidence," and the team is now looking optimistically towards the next match.

This was the sixth loss for Megabox Ondulati del Savio Vallefoglia, who currently sit in 11th place in the standings with 10 points, but have one game in hand. The leader remains champions Imoco Conegliano with a perfect record of 10 wins in 10 matches.
