Second consecutive loss for the champion from Lublin.
Polish champion Bogdanka LUK Lublin recorded a second consecutive loss in PlusLiga after losing away to Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie 2:3 (25:22, 20:25, 28:30, 25:20, 11:15). The match was a true volleyball thriller, and the hosts showed stronger nerves in the tie-break. For them, this was a symbolic victory, coming on the day their head coach Michał Winiarski officially stepped down from his position as coach of the German national team.
The top scorer for the winners was Bartłomiej Bołądź, who scored 29 points (2 aces) and was deservedly chosen as MVP. Wilfredo León was the top scorer for the guests with 23 points (1 ace, 1 block), but he failed in his strongest weapon – out of 15 serves, he made as many as 8 errors, and his attack efficiency was only 51%.
A strong match for Alex Grozdanov.
Our national team captain Alex Grozdanov was again among the best for Lublin. The Bulgarian finished with 11 points (1 ace and 3 blocks), added 5 digs in defense, and impressed with an 88% attack success rate at 75% efficiency – one of the highest in Bogdanka's squad. Grozdanov was stable in defense and a spiritual leader.
After this loss, LUK Lublin is fifth in the standings with 9 points from five matches, while the hosts, who have played one more match, lead the table in the championship's temporary ranking.
