The Spaniards demonstrated classic dominance – powerful serve, stable block, and excellent defense. Most impressive was their superiority in the first set (25-10), which practically broke Olympiacos' resistance, as they put effort into staying in the match, but without success.
Bulgarian trace in Guaguas' squad
Spectators in Sofia will not see the "Bulgarian son-in-law" Aleksandar Atanasievic, who plays for Olympiacos, but they will be able to watch Dobromir Dimitrov – a former setter for the national team and Neftochimic Burgas.
The other big name in the ranks of the Canary club is the legendary Osmany Juantorena, the Cuban with an Italian passport and part of "Squadra Azzurra" in the recent past, well-known to Bulgarian fans from the glorious era of Radostin Stoychev and "Bulgarian" Trento.
