Levski Sofia men's team continues to confidently march towards the Champions League group stage

Levski Sofia's men's team continues its confident march towards the group stage of the Champions League, having qualified for the third qualifying round of the most prestigious European club tournament.
Nikolay Zhelyazkov's volleyball players eliminated Croatian champions MOK Mursa (Osijek) after two victories – 3:2 away and a convincing 3:0 (25:18, 25:21, 26:24) in the return leg at Levski Sofia Hall.

Set by Set

In the first set, the 'Blues' displayed powerful serves and a solid block, which disarmed their opponent. After a series of strong performances by Julian Weishig and Todor Skrimov, Levski took the set 25:18.

The second set was under the complete control of the Bulgarian champions. Lazar Buchkov's aces and Damyan Kolev's stable defensive play allowed the team to maintain a comfortable lead and win 25:21.

The third set was the most contested. The visitors took a 4:0 lead, but after a series of attacks by Weishig and Lyutskanov, Levski showed character and came back to win 26:24, thus closing the match and the series with an overall score of 2:0 victories.

Match Heroes

Swiss opposite hitter Julian Weishig was named MVP with 18 points (1 ace, 3 blocks, 43% efficiency).
Gordan Lyutskanov added 12 points, while Lazar Buchkov impressed with 11 points and an almost flawless attack (89%).
The Bulgarian block was a decisive factor, preventing the visitors' main scorer Leo Andrić (18 pts.) from turning the match around.
