Brazil won the bronze medals in the women's competition

Brazil defeated Turkey in the bronze medal match 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 22-25, 25-15), completely dominating the European team.

Brazil thus responded to its only loss in the women's volleyball tournament at the Paris Games - against the United States in the semi-finals, and earned the right to step onto the podium at Sunday's medal ceremony.

The Selecao won an Olympic medal for the second consecutive time, after taking silver at the Tokyo Games three years ago. This was the sixth medal won by the South Americans at the Games, with their collection now including two gold (Beijing 2008 and London 2012), one silver (Tokyo 2020), and three bronze (Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000, and Paris 2024).

Turkey left the Games without a medal, but completed their most successful Olympic campaign to date, reaching the semi-finals for the first time on their third attempt.
Brazilian captain Gabriela "Gabi" Guimaraes led her team with a match-high 28 points. For the bronze medalists, Thaisa Menezes finished with 17 points and Ana Cristina de Souza with 13.

The 37-year-old Thaisa won her third Olympic medal of her career. She is an Olympic champion from Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016. Due to injury, she missed the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where the Brazilians became silver medalists, losing to the United States in the final.
